Using herbal hair washes is simple, but definitely a different experience than your typical detergent-based shampoos and conditioners. Herbal hair washes are made with powdered herbs. Really! Just 100% plants! These herbs cut through oils, condition your hair, and act as a body wash all in one. Get ready to have clean hair and a healthy scalp without the chemicals!

Paste method

1. Mix 1-2 tsp powder with water in a small bowl

2. Apply to wet hair and massage paste into scalp

3. Let sit 1-2 minutes or longer if your hair is feeling oily

4. To wash out: massage the entire scalp while rinsing Messy Magic is made from powdered herbs.

These herbs do not suds but will cut through excess oils, I promise! The powder is also a gentle exfoliant and removes build up on the scalp and skin.

A few more tips to get the most out of your herbal hair wash experience:

-The longer you let Messy Magic sit in your hair, the more oils it cuts through but don’t surpass 5 minutes! Even though Messy Magic is gentle, it can still dry your hair out if used improperly.

-Use a wet brush in the shower to help wash product out. This is especially helpful if you have long / curly hair!

-Messy Magic is also an incredible face and body wash.

-Keep away from your eyes! Yes, it’s natural and made from plants,... but yeah. It will still sting!

- If you hair and scalp are especially dry add a tsp of honey when mixing Messy Magic with water! Honey is exceptionally moisturizing.

Dry Shampoo

This one is sweet and simple if you're out camping, doing the van life thing, or in a pinch for time.

-Sprinkle ½ tsp on scalp

-Massage into scalp

-Let sit 1-3 minutes

-Brush out ~ Tada!

You can brush the herbs out over your sink or outside so that extra herb powder doesn’t end up on your floor.

Liquid method

-Simmer 2-4 tsp powder in 1 cup water for 5-10 minute. Add water as needed so that you end up with at least ½ to ¾ cup of liquid!

-Let sit for another 5 minutes then strain

-Apply warm (not hot!) liquid to dry hair at the beginning of your shower

-Let sit for 3+ minutes

-Rinse thoroughly.

You can catch any extra liquid in a bowl and reapply several times! To make a large batch simply double or triple the recipe above Freeze the extra liquid in an ice cube tray for later use. You can also store extra liquid in the fridge for up to 3 days.
